Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has expressed frustration over Afghanistan’s lack of response to Pakistan’s security concerns, saying that despite repeated diplomatic and private efforts, the Afghan government has shown no interest in addressing the issue.
Speaking on Aaj News’ programme “News Insight with Amir Zia”, Kundi emphasised that Afghan nationals are involved in terror activities in Pakistan and that Afghan territory is being used against the country.
He criticised Kabul’s inaction, saying, “Despite our diplomatic outreach and private efforts, the Afghan government has not taken any concrete steps.”
Kundi also highlighted the serious security threat posed by weapons left behind by NATO, stating, “The $8 billion worth of abandoned NATO weapons are now being used against us.”

National security meeting
The KP governor addressed concerns over the absence of some political parties from the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting, clarifying that similar absences in previous meetings had not been questioned.
He pointed out that during PTI’s tenure, the then-prime minister himself did not attend NSC meetings.
Defending the latest NSC meeting, he asserted that it was not held for personal or political reasons but to discuss the deteriorating law and order situation in KP.
Referring to the 2014 APS attack, Kundi stressed that the National Action Plan (NAP) was created to counter terrorism, but questioned whether it had been fully implemented.
“More than unity, what we need right now is realization and action,” he added.
Amid growing security challenges, Kundi’s remarks signal rising concerns over Afghanistan’s role in regional stability, as Pakistan continues to push for a stronger response from Kabul.
